MIMBA ESTATE - TANZANIA

Mimba Estate was established in 1995 by Joseph Meila, a Swiss immigrant. The 160 hectare farm is situated between 1400 and 1700 masl, with plantings of Bourbon and Kent varieties. Care is taken to preserve topsoil, with mainly organic compost-based fertilizer and mulch applied to reduce weed growth and promote water retention. Selective hand-picking of ripe cherry is emphasized at harvest time; the stringent sorting and meticulous processing that follows helps produce the highest quality possible.
